Step into the Kingdom of Light and experience one of the world’s great crossroads — a land where thousands of years of history, cultures, traditions, craftsmanship, and diverse landscapes come together in endlessly fascinating ways.

We want you to be as excited by Morocco as we are, and to love and enjoy it as much as we do. We know our words can never fully do Morocco justice, but we’ll try.

Explore medieval imperial cities where treasures of history and daily life are concealed behind ancient city walls. Picture yourself making your way through tangled streets and hidden alleys to sumptuous palaces and madrasas, bustling souks fragrant with spices and henna, peaceful riad courtyards, and hidden gardens. Follow in the footsteps of the trans-Saharan caravans through former capitals and trading posts, and marvel at striking desert kasbahs — fortress-like earthen castles — and ksars, fortified villages perched on hilltops and hidden amongst palm-filled oases. Discover coastal towns where trans-Saharan caravan traders, sailors, and Barbary corsairs once crossed paths; picturesque whitewashed and blue-washed towns; and former capitals and legendary places where history and myth intertwine — reminders of Roman, Phoenician, Carthaginian, and Mauretanian civilisations. Across mountains, deserts, valleys, and coastlines, ancient Amazigh (Berber) settlements and Neolithic rock engravings remain visible reminders that the Amazigh have called this land home since at least Neolithic times.

And then there are the colours of Morocco.

Rich reds, deep blues, vibrant greens, brilliant yellows, earthy browns, and crisp whites compete for attention, yet somehow come together in perfect harmony. They appear in exquisite zellij mosaics, traditional tribal clothing, richly woven Amazigh (Berber) carpets, intricate embroidery, dazzling jewellery, tantalisingly presented food, and bustling markets. They define landscapes of snow-capped mountains and fertile valleys, palm-filled desert oases and sweeping ochre-red dunes beneath brilliant blue skies, fertile plains and dramatic coastlines where sandy beaches and rugged cliffs meet the Atlantic and Mediterranean.

An Amazigh (Berber) land since Neolithic times, Morocco’s long history has woven together Amazigh (Berber), Arabic, Jewish, African, Mediterranean, and European influences. These traditions are expressed through music, dance, weaving, embroidery, jewellery, henna, hammams, aromatic cuisine, and the ritual of sharing mint tea.

For us, above all else, it is the warmth and generosity of the Moroccan people that leave the deepest and happiest memories.

Their humour, hospitality, pride in tradition, and the natural ease with which everyday life, stories, laughter, celebrations, mint tea, and food are shared with family and friends, old and new alike are at the heart of our Morocco.

Perhaps this is why fascination with Morocco’s history, culture, and landscapes so often deepens into a genuine affection for the country and its people.
