Our
Morocco Beginnings
Berber Treasures was founded in the mid-2000s through a partnership between Morocco and Australia. Ounir was born and raised in Morocco and brings deep Amazigh (Berber) roots and longstanding connections throughout the country. Georgina has travelled extensively throughout Morocco for more than two decades. Together, they have spent many years building local relationships and developing journeys that encourage a deeper appreciation of the country’s landscapes, cultures, traditions, and people.

We are proud and grateful for the deeply respectful relationships we have developed over the years with our Moroccan drivers and guides, local accommodation owners and local communities. The riads, kasbahs, and desert camps included in our tours of Morocco are carefully selected not only for comfort and character, but also for their hospitality and the way they reflect the traditions, architecture, and atmosphere of the regions in which they are located.
We work closely with Moroccan-owned businesses and local families to support the communities and people who help make Morocco such a remarkable country to experience.

Working alongside our Moroccan team, we are your first point of contact with Berber Treasures. We work with travellers planning bespoke private tours, those joining our small group tours of Morocco, and partner organisations seeking thoughtfully designed custom itineraries to offer under their own brand.
For private tours, we work closely with you from the earliest planning stages to design an itinerary shaped around your interests, travel style, and pace. For small group travel, we help guide you toward the Morocco tours best suited to your interests and the kind of experience you are seeking in Morocco.

Coming from a range of Amazigh (Berber), Arabic, and mixed cultural backgrounds, our team reflects the remarkable diversity of Morocco itself. Fluent across Amazigh languages, Arabic, English, French, and Spanish, they help travellers better understand the country through local knowledge, personal insight, humour, conversation, and lived experience.
Chosen for their professionalism, warmth, and deep knowledge of Morocco’s history and traditions, they do far more than simply recite facts. Through personal stories, local insight, and everyday encounters along the way, they help travellers experience Morocco through the perspective of people who have lived its culture and traditions all their lives. Their local knowledge and longstanding relationships can also open the door to spontaneous experiences and encounters that would otherwise never happen.
